Hernhill Parish Council visit Cleve Hill Solar Park
The construction team welcomed six local Parish Councillors to view progress on site.
We were pleased to host an event for Hernhill Parish Councillors on 13 August, following a recent similar visit by representatives of the Goodnestone with Graveney Parish Council.
The visit included a short talk from Project Manager, Reece Monk, and Project Director, Colin Freeman, on construction progress so far and planned next steps in the programme.
The visitors also watched a short video featuring details on the electrical compound and ecological works, including the development of habitat management areas.
The Councillors had a good view of the whole site from a platform on the roof of the construction offices and this was followed by a Q&A session with the team. Discussions included a wide range of topics including maintenance of the sea wall, ongoing testing of piling methods across the site and observations on increased biodiversity.
One of our Ecological Clerks of Works (ECoWs) was on hand to answer questions about the species that live and breed on the site. Among other topics, he explained how exclusion zones have helped protect nesting birds and water voles by keeping works at a distance from the animals.
The Hernhill Councillors commented that they had found the site visit interesting and useful.
We are holding a community site visit on Saturday 21 September. If you would like to register to attend this event, please email info@clevehillsolar.com or call Community Liaison Officer Jackie Hall on 07766 408840. Please include your name, number of people in your party and your contact details. We will be in touch nearer the time with full details.
